
Civitan Club, Clarksville
Civitan International is a non-profit volunteer service organization supporting those with intellectual/developmental disabilities with a focus on building good cicitzenship. . The club’s three active fundraising projects are the Scavenger Hunt, Vidalia Onion Sales, and Fruit Cake sales. Funds from the Vidalia Onion are donated to the Civitan International Research Center and to local agencies that support intellectual and developmentally disabled adults. Scavenger Hunt funds support APSU scholarships. Fruit Cake funds assist with many smaller projects in the community. Some of the club’s community service activities include: sponsoring Junior Civitan Clubs, working with Boy Scout Troop 514 that Clarksville Civitan chartered in 1956, Girl Scouts, APSU Scholarships, and the support of a flower bed on Madison Street, and bringing back Special Olympics to Middle TN.
Our great club is one of a few that meets weekly for knowledge (interesting programs), fellowship (luncheon meal) and service (projects & fundraisers). Currently we have 32 regular meal members and 57 no-meal members in good standing with the Region 6 District and Civitan International. Attendance at our weekly meetings averages around
