Sierra Club, Clarksville-Montgomery County
We are the local branch of the Tennessee Chapter of the national Sierra Club, the largest and most influential grassroots environmental organization in the United States. The Tennessee Chapter, with 44,000 members and supporters across the state, is dedicated to protecting communities and wild places through grassroots activism, public education, lobbying and litigation. We build power by connecting people across the state to address environmental and social change issues, and our campaigns are strong because they are guided by local leaders. In Clarksville-Montgomery County, our group works with the local governments, including city and county parks and the Clarksville Sustainability Board, as well as with local schools and APSU. We are committed to working with these entities and others to increase awareness of local and global sustainability issues and to take action toward climate change mitigation.
